The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, conducted by world renowned Mark Wigglesworth and the acclaimed violinist, Nicola Benedetti, are coming to celebrate our birthday with us in July. I am also programming several other one-night celebratory events including the phenomenal classical guitarist Milos who will be playing at Stoke Repertory Theatre. Additionally, in a collaboration with Keele Concerts, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the Mitchell Arts Centre.
In the Classics season, eight orchestral concerts have been scheduled featuring world renowned conductors including John Storgårds, Jiří Rožeň and Courtney Lewis making their debuts in our series. Soloists include two
sensational violinists, Francesca Dego and Carolin Widmann, pianist Simon Trpčeski and the wonderful cellist Kian Soltani. Our new home for the Piano Masters series at Stoke Rep Theatre has proved to be very popular with audiences. Another first class line-up has been programmed with Peter Donohoe, Mark Bebbington and Martin James Bartlett.
Following literally dozens of requests Juan Pérez Floristán returns and world acclaimed Stephen Hough completes this stunning programme.
Season tickets for both series are great value and there will be NO INCREASE IN TICKET PRICES from last season for the 2019-2020 events. The generosity of the numerous subscribers who have become Patrons and Friends, together with the Gift Aid generated, has been vital in sustaining our events and encouraging me to programme some of the world’s finest musicians and the best of the British Orchestras. I look forward to celebrating our 50th Anniversary with you in July and seeing you again in the Autumn.
